This black comedy stars Rex Harrison as Sir Alfred De Carter, a conductor who suspects that his wife is having an affair. His fantasies of a vengeance plot, set to three separate musical compositions, don’t work out quite as planned. A sparkling mixture of razor-sharp dialogue (Sturges wrote and directed) and masterful slapstick performances by Harrison and the rest of the cast, Unfaithfully Yours satirizes the style and cult that surrounded the conductor Thomas Beecham.
The program will be introduced by Rex Harrison’s son, the novelist and playwright Carey Harrison.
