Concert: American Symphony Orchestra

American Symphony Orchestra, Leon Botstein, music director. A free concert, which will be recorded for future release by a grant from the Goelet Foundation, features a wide-ranging survey of compelling orchestral works written between 1962 and 1995 by four American masters: BERNARD RANDS (b. 1934): …where the murmurs die… (1995); GEORGE PERLE (b. 1915): Transcendental Modulations (1993); ROGER SESSIONS (1896 – 1985): Symphony No. 8 (1968); AARON COPLAND (1900 – 1990): Inscape (1962). Seating is limited, and will be offered first come, first served.
