"There’s a lightly worn excellence about this whole endeavor—a particular mix of talent and humanity—that makes attending [The Porch] an opportunity not to miss.” — CountryWisdomNews.com
Inspired by The Moth, The Porch is an ongoing, local event that brings members of our Hudson Valley community together for an initmate evening of true storytelling (no notes allowed!).
Launched last year by Red Hook resident Joey Shavelle and hosted by John Nathan of Rhinecliff, The Porch at Bard’s Spiegeltent will feature some of the best yarns from its three previous engagements, along with a few new voices and stories. Unlike a slam, the evening’s stories are curated — so all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy these true tales, each under 10 minutes, that are sure to compel, move, elate and inspire. Hope you can join us — we’ll leave the light on!
