SummerScape Transportation

SummerScape offers round-trip transportation from Manhattan to Bard as well as shuttles to and from the Poughkeepsie train station.

NYC Bus

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED
The Fisher Center provides inexpensive, convenient round-trip transportation from Manhattan to Bard for select SummerScape and Bard Music Festival performances. Fare is $30, and reservations are required. This service is for ticket holders only. 

MEETING POINT
The meeting point for the bus pickup and drop-off will be at Lincoln Center at Amsterdam Avenue between 64th and 65th Streets.

Subway: Take the 1, 2, or 3 train to 72nd Street and walk south on Amsterdam. Or Take the A, B, C, D, or 1 train to 59th St/Columbus Circle then walk northwest on Broadway to 64th Street. Turn left on 65th and walk one block to Amsterdam. Turn left on Amsterdam.

DEPARTURE FROM MANHATTAN
An hour before the scheduled departure time, our bus captain will be at the meeting point with a checklist and a sign that says “Fisher Center Bus: Bard College.” He or she will direct you to our bus. The bus driver’s side window will have a sign for the Fisher Center. Be sure to board the correct bus—there may be other buses parked in this general area.

Buses are available for all opening night performances and Sunday matinees and all Bard Music Festival Sosnoff Theater matinee/evening performances.

Please be on time. We cannot hold the bus for latecomers.

*Box dinner is available for purchase for the return trip for $10. To reserve a box dinner, please call 845-758-7900. Box dinner consists of a choice of sandwiches (listed below), fruit, cookies, and bottled water.

  • Smoked turkey with cranberry orange compote, Swiss cheese, and arugula on whole wheat French bread
  • Roasted portabello mushroom with red pepper aioli, smoked gouda cheese, and arugula on brioche bread
  • Sun-dried tomato grilled chicken salad with mesclun greens and fresh basil on a spinach wrap

RETURN TRIP FROM BARD
The bus back to Manhattan will depart from the Fisher Center 15 minutes after the performance concludes.

Train Shuttle Information

The Fisher Center provides inexpensive, convenient transportation from the Poughkeepsie train station to Bard for all Saturday evening performances, all opera performances, and all Bard Music Festival Sosnoff Theater evening performances. Ticket prices are one way, and reservations are required. This service is for ticket holders only.

One-Way Poughkeepsie to Bard / Bard to Poughkeepsie $10.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
If you are planning to return with the Bard shuttle as well, please purchase a roundtrip train ticket to save time on the return journey.

MEETING POINT
There will be a Shuttle Captain with a sign marked BARD COLLEGE or POUGHKEEPSIE on each shuttle to confirm your reservation and answer any questions you may have.

The Shuttle will pick up in the bus lane by the main entrance at Poughkeepsie. The shuttle will be clearly marked with signs labeled "FISHER CENTER." It will drop off at the front of the Fisher Center across from the Parliament of Reality.
