Assistant Orchestra Stage Manager
OVERVIEW
The Assistant Orchestra Stage Manager is part of the Production team and will support Orchestra Stage Management in the coordination and execution for assigned productions at the Fisher Center. They report directly to the Orchestra Stage Managers and the Associate Orchestra Production Manager and will work closely with other production team members, designers, and artists.
This is an in-person part-time position, paid at a rate of $19/hr. Hours will average 26 plus hours per week, depending on rehearsal schedules.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive workplace at all times
- Assist Orchestra Stage Manager with coordinating artist needs, orchestral setups, and running rehearsals and performances
- Act as lead to Stage Crew to set up and strike rehearsals and performances
- Act as Deck Supervisor for rehearsals, concerts, and lectures
- Assist Orchestra Stage Manager with coordination of stage crew and stage changes
- Calling cues for rehearsals/dress and performances as needed
- Maintain up-to-date paperwork, including stage plots, runsheets, etc.
- Attend rehearsals and run post-rehearsal production meetings as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Orchestra Stage Manager or the Associate Orchestra Production Manager
- This invaluable person relays all of the cues to the back-stage crews, monitors the orchestra before and during both rehearsals and shows and relays information back to the stage manager so that they can make informed decisions
- Help the Stage Manager ensure the stage or rehearsal space is ready for each rehearsal. This could include sweeping, setting up risers, chairs, stands, and everything needed within the plot

Associate Production Manager
OVERVIEW
The Associate Production Manager’s (APM) primary responsibility is the day-to-day management of all productions and projects as assigned by the Director of Production. The primary focus will be work produced by the undergraduate Theater & Performance, Dance, and Music Programs with a secondary focus on Fisher Center Presents, Live Arts Bard, and SummerScape productions.
The APM reports directly to the Director of Production and works closely with the other members of the Fisher Center Production Department, the Fisher Center Producing Department, and the faculty and students of the Theater & Performance, Dance, and Music Programs to deliver an excellent standard of support that furthers the mission of the Center and Bard College.
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible for Bard College’s group benefits package, compensated at an annual salary range of $55,000 – $65,000, depending on experience.
This position supports the production and tech processes for work coming from various producers. This includes student productions that work around class schedules. Many weeks include evening and weekend work calls and meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the planning and execution of all production elements of each assigned production, including but not limited to leading production meetings and designer check-ins, supporting all load-ins and strikes, creating and distributing tech schedules, and coordinating with professional designers and students about how best to execute their design/piece.
- When working with academic shows or projects, work with students, and their faculty advisors, to lay out concrete timelines and expectations, and schedule meetings as needed to discuss and implement the production elements of their piece.
- Assist the Director of Production with planning and advancing production needs for FC Presents and Fisher Center LAB programming and residencies as needed.
- Day-to-day production management of FC programming and residencies, rental events, one-off productions, both professional and academic, as needed.
- Assist the Director of Production with the planning and implementation of assigned production elements for the SummerScape Festival.
- Lead administrative tasks for the production team (along with the production administrator), including purchasing and budget tracking, timesheets, and onboarding of new hires (both student and non-exempt employees).
- Provide leadership, support, coordination, organization, problem-solving, and guidance to Production Department colleagues and partner constituents.
- Participate in the development of production safety practices.

- Participate in the development of ongoing Equity and Inclusion practices related to the production department.

- Previous theatrical or live event production management experience; at least two years of professional experience preferred.
- Experience supervising production departments.

Assistant House Manager
OVERVIEW
As a key member of the House Management team, the Assistant House Manager provides administrative support to the House Manager and co-supervises the entire Front of House (FOH) team for in-person and/or live streamed events at the Fisher Center. The Assistant House Manager seeks to consistently provide an excellent and safe experience for audiences and a professional, supportive and fun environment for their team of ushers, parkers, and chat moderators.
The Assistant House Manager is a member of the Fisher Center’s Marketing & Audience Services department and reports directly to the House Manager. This position works closely with the following departments: Box Office, Production, Building Operations teams.
This is a seasonal position, non-exempt (overtime-eligible), paid hourly at a rate range of $17–18/hr.
This position requires local residence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a high level of proficiency with Front of House policies and procedures as well as our ticketing software.
- Fulfill various daily and weekly administrative functions as necessary including preparing house and lobbies before and after events, returning all Front of House materials to original locations, and any other tasks delegated by the House Manager.
- Attend weekly FOH meetings and any meetings that pertain to FOH operations at an event for which the House Manager will be responsible.
- Work with the House Manager to devise, maintain and deliver training materials and workshops.
- Review communications that go out to the full FOH team with the House Manager.
Duties as Front of House lead (executed in cooperation with the House Manager) include:
- Supervise Front of House Staff during events.
- Coordinate systems and communicate with Box Office, Production, Building Operations and other staff to effectively and efficiently run each event.
- Attend dress rehearsals in order to understand the FOH needs required for each event.
- Maintain and administer detailed house reports for each event and respond to feedback in a timely manner.
- Accurately report Front of House staff timings for each event.

Company Management Driver
OVERVIEW
This summer (June–August 2025), Bard SummerScape returns with a vibrant season of dance, theater, opera, music, and the beloved Spiegeltent. Presented by the Fisher Center at Bard, this celebrated multi-arts festival takes place in person on Bard’s idyllic 1,000-acre campus, featuring performances in the stunning Frank Gehry-designed performing arts center.
The Company Management team works as the key artist and staff services representatives, providing accommodations and services to 400+ SummerScape and Bard Music Festival visiting artists and seasonal staff, specifically in the realms of transportation, housing, and hospitality. The team strives to create a people-centered, hospitality-minded environment for all participants.
The Company Management Driver reports to the Company Manager in charge of Transportation to provide pickups and dropoffs to and from the SummerScape festival site as well as shuttle company members around the local area. Drivers will also work closely with artists, production staff, project producers, administrative staff, and box office staff.
While prior experience is helpful, we are accepting applications from entry-level candidates, including recently-graduated students* who are eager team players and are willing to receive training on specific tasks related to being a Company Management Driver.
This is a seasonal position from June 1 – August 22, non-exempt (overtime-eligible), paid hourly at a rate of $19–21/hr. Hours will average 35–40 hours/week, with the potential for overtime.
Local residence is required from June 1 – August 22; campus housing will be provided free of charge if needed, including a single bedroom and shared amenities based on availability. Employees will have access to three (3) meals per weekday and two (2) meals per weekend day on campus during the residency period. Should campus dining agreements or options change from the time of the agreement, an equivalent per diem will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: Room and board may differ for current Bard College students.
*Due to the constraints of our rental car contracts, only candidates 25 years old and over can be considered for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the day-to-day facilitation of local ground transportation for artist pickups, drop-offs, shopping runs, and other needs in coordination with the Travel and Transportation Company Manager
- Complete an online training course during your first shift to become a Bard Certified Driver
- Ensure adherence to the law as well as Bard and Fisher Center safety standards while driving
- Coordinate and communicate with passengers in a kind and hospitable way while maintaining schedule, policies, and other directives from Travel and Transportation Company Manager
- Drive a daily scheduled lunch shuttle in a 15 passenger van between the Fisher Center and campus dining hall
- Maintain company vehicle fleet including refueling, cleaning, and scheduling maintenance in coordination with the Travel and Transportation Company Manager
- Drive company vehicles for long-distance company needs, including artist and staff pick-up/drop-off to NYC area airports
- Drive company vehicles for the purpose of hospitality supply pickups and amenity transport

This summer (June–August 2025), Bard SummerScape returns with a vibrant season of dance, theater, opera, music, and the beloved Spiegeltent. Presented by the Fisher Center at Bard, this celebrated multi-arts festival takes place in person on Bard’s idyllic 1,000-acre campus, featuring performances in the stunning Frank Gehry-designed performing arts center.
The Company Management team works as the key artist and staff services representatives, providing accommodations and services to 400+ SummerScape and Bard Music Festival visiting artists and seasonal staff, specifically in the realms of transportation, housing, and hospitality. The team strives to create a people-centered, hospitality-minded environment for all participants.
Area Company Managers report to William Schuyler, Head of Company Management, and Jess Webber, Programs and Festival Operations Manager and work closely with artists, production staff, project producers, administrative staff, and box office staff. They will supervise the Company Management Assistants and collaborate with the other Area Company Managers (including Housing, Transportation, Spiegeltent, and production-specific Company Managers), as well as company management for visiting artists.
From April 15 – May 11, 2025, this is a remote, seasonal, part-time, non-exempt position, paid hourly at a rate range of $25–28/hr, commensurate with experience. Hours will be approximately 10–20 hours/week. Some site visits and in-person prep meetings prior to May 12 may be requested, availability permitting—transportation and lodging costs will be covered.
From May 12 – August 22, 2025, this is a on-site, seasonal, exempt position, with compensation ranging from $17,000–$20,000, commensurate with experience and availability. Hours will be approximately 40 hours/week. This position requires flexible work hours and evenings/days reflective of the dynamic schedule of a performing arts festival.
Local residence is required from May 12 – August 22; campus housing will be provided free of charge if needed, including a single bedroom and shared amenities based on availability. - Work with the on-campus dining service, Parkhurst, to schedule catering and manage other logistics, e.g., dining hall hours
- Collaborate with the SummerScape Rehearsal Coordinator and other key stakeholders to schedule catering
- Ensure all staff and guest artist dietary restrictions are accommodated
- Collaborate as requested with the Development, Producing, and General Management teams on events and artist/staff gifts
- Assist with company swag, e.g., t-shirts
- Creating company name badges and managing printing
- Assist with company events, e.g., a BBQ, staff talent show, etc.
- Support company health and wellness needs, e.g. inventory of masks and COVID tests
GENERAL COMPANY MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Become a Bard Certified Driver with the campus Transportation Office
- Drive company vehicles for various festival purposes as needed
- Develop an artist-centered, hospitality-minded, safe, and comfortable environment for all visiting artists and staff
- Support special programming events, including first rehearsals and opening nights
- Create and distribute itineraries, welcome packets, and other resources
- Contribute to the management of the department budget, including tracking and reconciling
- Run the company management desk late evenings when on duty and other times as needed, including checking in guests on arrival
- Work shifts as Manager on Duty in which you are on-site to serve as point person for the department, support and supervise company management assistants, and address any matters that arise as a dispatcher for the department
- Cover for other areas of company management including housing, transportation, and general operations when that specified manager is unavailable or on their day off
- Assist in the unpacking, packing, and inventory of supplies and amenities at the beginning and end of the festival season
- Supervise company management assistants and other festival staff, ensuring job standards are being met

- Coordinate reservations and payments at local hotel(s) and/or short term rentals as needed
- Maintain and revise database of room allocations for all company members for the duration of the festival
- Implement systems and processes for housing amenities allocation, room key storage, and distribution, etc.
- Supervise Company Management Assistants in setup and turnover of dorms and on-campus housing
- Coordinate housing turnover and cleaning with campus Environmental Services
- Collaborate with department to ensure all maintenance requests are responded to and escalated to campus services as needed
- Coordinate blankets and linens orders, delivery, pick-up, and laundry throughout the summer with external vendor, and oversee ongoing distribution to/return from staff and artists
- Collaborate on company management communications, including welcome and departure letters
- Review and revise internal documentation, e.g. turnover checklists, housing guidelines, etc.

OVERVIEW
This summer (June–August 2025), Bard SummerScape returns with a vibrant season of dance, theater, opera, music, and the beloved Spiegeltent. Presented by the Fisher Center at Bard, this celebrated multi-arts festival takes place in person on Bard’s idyllic 1,000-acre campus, featuring performances in the stunning Frank Gehry-designed performing arts center.
The Company Management team works as the key artist and staff services representatives, providing accommodations and services to 400+ SummerScape and Bard Music Festival visiting artists and seasonal staff, specifically in the realms of transportation, housing, and hospitality. The team strives to create a people-centered, hospitality-minded environment for all participants.
Area Company Managers report to William Schuyler, Head of Company Management, and Jess Webber, Programs and Festival Operations Manager and work closely with artists, production staff, project producers, administrative staff, and box office staff. They will supervise the Company Management Assistants and collaborate with the other Area Company Managers (including Housing, Transportation, Spiegeltent, and production-specific Company Managers), as well as company management for visiting artists.
From April 15 – May 11, 2025, this is a remote, seasonal, part-time, non-exempt position, paid hourly at a rate range of $25–28/hr, commensurate with experience. Hours will be approximately 10–20 hours/week. Some site visits and in-person prep meetings prior to May 12 may be requested, availability permitting—transportation and lodging costs will be covered.
From May 12 – August 22, 2025, this is a on-site, seasonal, exempt position, with compensation ranging from $17,000–$20,000, commensurate with experience and availability. Hours will be approximately 40 hours/week. This position requires flexible work hours and evenings/days reflective of the dynamic schedule of a performing arts festival.
Local residence is required from May 12 – August 22; campus housing will be provided free of charge if needed, including a single bedroom and shared amenities based on availability. Employees will have access to three (3) meals per weekday and two (2) meals per weekend day on campus during the residency period. Should campus dining agreements or options change from the time of the agreement, an equivalent per diem will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: Room and board may differ for current Bard College students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- In collaboration with the Lead Company Manager, design and implement a system to manage transportation and travel needs across the festival artists and staff, and communicate this information to all stakeholders
- Maintain a working relationship with the Bard College Transportation Department and local rental branch to ensure fleet and maintenance needs are met
- Day-to-day supervision of a team of two Company Management Drivers
- Ensure all company management department staff become Bard Certified Drivers
- Oversee the day-to-day planning and facilitation of travel and transportation of festival artists and staff, including arrivals/departures and local transportation needs, e.g., grocery store runs, production needs, etc.
- Communicate with staff and artists about arrival/departure plans and any necessary adjustments, including making/adjusting bookings, troubleshooting any delays/cancellations, and ensuring information flows to festival staff as needed
- Maintain travel information in the company management database throughout the festival
- Coordinate transportation needs with the availability of Company Management Assistants and Drivers, and take critical drives as needed
- Support General Management and Audience & Member Services teams with on campus parking and shuttling, as needed
GENERAL COMPANY MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Become a Bard Certified Driver with the campus Transportation Office
- Drive company vehicles for various festival purposes as needed
- Develop an artist-centered, hospitality-minded, safe, and comfortable environment for all visiting artists and staff
- Support special programming events, including first rehearsals and opening nights
- Create and distribute itineraries, welcome packets, and other resources
- Contribute to the management of the department budget, including tracking and reconciling
- Run the company management desk late evenings when on duty and other times as needed, including checking in guests on arrival
- Work shifts as Manager on Duty in which you are on-site to serve as point person for the department, support and supervise company management assistants, and address any matters that arise as a dispatcher for the department
- Cover for other areas of company management including housing, transportation, and general operations when that specified manager is unavailable or on their day off
- Assist in the unpacking, packing, and inventory of supplies and amenities at the beginning and end of the festival season
- Supervise company management assistants and other festival staff, ensuring job standards are being met
- Collaborate with and manage team members with professionalism, kindness, and enthusiasm
- Have a “no task is too small” mentality

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
- At least three years of professional and supervisory experience in hospitality/company management, theater management, and/or retail/customer service industry
- A valid driver’s license for more than 12 months, due to the requirements of Bard’s Transportation department
- A satisfactory driving record
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- A welcoming demeanor and positive attitude are a must. Company Management team members are often the first people that visiting artists, personnel, and the public will meet while at the festival
- No two days will be the same; the ideal candidate will be flexible, collaborative, and possess a willingness to jump in to handle high-priority tasks with the team. They should have a ‘no task is too small’ mindset
- Excellent organization skills, communication skills, and superior attention to detail
- Must be able to work closely with other team members and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and solving problems quickly
- Proficiency with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, shared Drives)
- Only candidates with a valid driver’s license will be considered
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest or background in the performing arts, e.g., work experience and/or studies in the performing arts, is highly encouraged
- Familiarity/experience with AirTable will be beneficial
- Van driving experience is a plus

- This position requires hours during some evenings/weekends, reflective of the dynamic schedule of a performing arts festival
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs

Parking Coodinator
OVERVIEW
As a key member of the House Management team, the Parking Coordinator will directly oversee the operational efficacy, accessibility, and security of the Fisher Center parking strategy, which will include parking lots at Fisher Center and, at times, across the Bard campus. In this capacity, the Parking Coordinator will supervise a team of approximately 25 staff (Parking Attendants and Golf Cart Drivers). This role is instrumental to the Fisher Center’s audience experience and the overall safety and operational success of our Front of House protocols. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in parking operations, grounds management, large event operations, customer service, and a familiarity with security protocols.
North Campus construction has limited the Fisher Center’s parking capacity and necessitated an audience shuttling program that was first implemented during our 2024 summer season. Working in close collaboration with the Audience and Member Services Manager, House Manager, General Manager, and Director of Facilities, the Parking will further strategize a parking plan that places accessibility at its core, ensuring that all visitors (guests, as well as artists and staff) have the parking and transportation services required to remain safe and comfortable during their visit.
The Parking Coordinator is a Fisher Center Audience & Member Services department member and reports directly to the House Manager. This position works closely with the following Fisher Center departments: Front of House, Building Operations, General/Company Management, Box Office, Development, and Marketing teams, as well as the Bard College Departments of Transportation and Security.
This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible (on or after September 1st) and going through May 26th, 2025, non-exempt (overtime-eligible), and paid $23/hour. Hours will average approximately 35-40 hours per week. Possibility to renew the contract for summer 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Devise and implement a parking strategy for a predetermined set of parking lots near the Fisher Center and across the Bard College campus
- In collaboration with the Front of House Manager, design staffing strategies and staffing assignments to manage the various parking and transportation needs
- In collaboration with Front of House and Development, help to plan out VIP parking, as well as ensuring accessible parking runs smoothly and safely for all visitors with accessibility needs
- Work with other members of the Audience & Member Services and General Management teams to identify and address barriers to access at the Fisher Center’s venues
- Coordinate with General Management on additional staff and artist parking and transportation as needed
- Directly oversee and manage the parking flow for all shows at the Fisher Center’s Sosnoff Theater and LUMA Theaters, as well as for performances at any off-site locations
- Send out regular and timely communications to parking staff, as needed. Serve as a resource for the parking attendants and golf cart drivers
- Manage hours for outdoor staff, reporting back to the Front of House Manager for payroll purposes
- Attend weekly All Staff meetings and other administrative meetings as needed

- 2–3 years of professional managing operations for large-scale events
- 1–2 years managing a team; preference for experience with large teams
- Experience with fast-paced environments and ability to handle fast communication and logistics
- Ability to multitask and oversee many overlapping happenings and events simultaneously
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to oversee complex strategies and planning tools
- The ideal candidate will be flexible and have an all-hands-on-deck attitude
- Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its applications to non-profit organizations is a strong plus
- Excellent organization skills, communication skills, and superior attention to detail
- Proficiency with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, shared Drives)
- A current driver’s license and/or reliable transportation are required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Security Certification, as well as CPR and First Aid
- Golf cart driving certification
- A passion for the performing arts is preferred

- Ability to stand on your feet for several hours; some handling of light to moderate equipment
