The Rebolu of La Voz comes with full force! Join us in celebrating the 19th anniversary of the La Voz magazine with a special fundraising event at Bard Collegeâs beautiful Spiegeltent, including live music and dancing, delicious food for sale, and a silent auction.
Rebolu is an Afro-Colombian musical ensemble represented by some of the best Colombian musicians in the United States. From traditional songs to original compositions, Reboluâs repertoire is charged with energy and history. Their unique reinterpretations of traditional Afro-Colombian rhythms, such as Gaita, Tambora, Chalupa, and Bullerengue, and their belief that folkloric traditions must continue to grow over time and with new ideas make Rebolu a truly unique musical and cultural experience where rich musical traditions of their ancestors; the Afro-descendants of the Caribbean coast of Colombia, are promoted.
Do you like to dance? This is an excellent opportunity to participate in a dance class taught by Elizabeth Liotta, a certified teacher of Afro-Cuban rhythms and part of the La Voz team. No previous experience is needed; just come have fun with us and learn new steps that you can use later in the evening at Reboluâs concert!
All proceeds benefit La Voz magazine. For sponsorship opportunities and more information, email lavozfellow@bard.edu.
