Join us for another fabulous Summertime Swing at the Spiegeltent!
Perennial favorites and local swing impresarios Linda and Chester Freeman of Got2Lindy Dance Studios return for a night of swing dancing. The evening will include a swing dance lesson (6:30 pm), a performance by Got2Lindy Dance Studios (8 pm), and all-night dancing to the fabulous music of Danny Lipsitz and the Brass Tacks (through 10 pm).
Danny Lipsitz is one of the most sought-after bandleaders, musicians, and entertainers on the swing dance scene in the Northeast U.S. Danny leads his swing, jump blues, klezmer, and early rock ‘n’ roll band, The Brass Tacks, in captivating, feel-good music for people from all walks of life. An expert entertainer, Danny is known for his ability to read a room and form a deep connection with the crowd for a wide variety of audiences, rooms, and situations.
The Brass Tacks have performed at jazz clubs, performing arts centers, private events, and swing dance events around the world. In 2022, they headlined the inaugural Swing On the Sound swing dance weekend at Sound View Greenport, and during the summer months they draw out hundreds of dancers to Seaport Swings, their weekly Sunday event. In 2024, they brought a 14-piece orchestra to headline “Summer For The City” at Lincoln Center, with an attendance of over 1,400 people.
